A short guide to the werewolf roles

You do not need every role's essay before the first deal. You need to know which team a card is on, and that the card in front of you at dawn is the one that scores. The roles page has the night action, the goal, and the tips for each one. This is only the map. The rules explain when those actions happen, and why a swap can change your team without waking you.

Village

Werewolf team

  • Werewolf — Hunts in the dark. Lies at dawn.
  • Minion — Serves the pack, not seen by it.

On their own

  • Tanner — Hates his job. Hates his life.

Village roles are not all the same kind of information. Mason and Seer learn something. Robber, Troublemaker, and Drunk move cards. Insomniac checks their own card at the end. Villager and Hunter do nothing at night; the Hunter matters only if they die in the vote. Doppelgänger copies another player's card and then does that role's action.

For a first game, leave the Minion, Tanner, and Drunk in the box. Host from the home page with wolves, Seer, Robber, Troublemaker, and Villagers. Come back to the full role list when the table asks for a stranger card.
