How to host a werewolf game on your phones
Hosting is the easy seat if you do it in order. You do not moderate from memory. Your phone calls the night, and each other phone shows only that player's action.
Before anyone closes their eyes
- Open the home page and choose Host a game. Enter your name. You get a lobby and a four-letter code.
- Read the code out loud. Everyone else chooses Join a game, types the code, and enters a name. They do not need an account.
- Wait until at least three players are in. More can join before you deal. The deck grows with the table and always keeps three center cards.
- Pick roles. For a first night use two Werewolves, a Seer, a Robber, a Troublemaker, and Villagers to fill the deck. The rules page explains why that set is enough. Save Minion, Tanner, Drunk, and Insomniac for the second game.
- Deal. Each player taps their card, reads it, and confirms. Tell them not to show the phone.
During the night
Ask everyone to close their eyes and turn your volume up. You are the narrator. When a role is called, that player's phone buzzes and shows the action. Every other phone stays dark, including during calls for roles that are in the center, so a quiet room does not mean a sleeping role. If you have never seen a night from the inside, do the tutorial once before you host friends.
Then let people talk, and vote. The app resolves ties, the Hunter, and the win together. The reveal is the part worth hosting for. Skim what each role was allowed to do if the argument gets stuck on a card, then deal again.
