Werewolf Night FAQ
These are the questions people ask before the first lobby. The short version: open the home page, share a code, and play. How to play and the roles cover the procedure and the cards. The tutorial is there if you want one practice night before you host.
Questions
Do we need to download an app?
No. Werewolf Night runs in the phone browser. The host opens the home page, creates a lobby, and everyone else joins with the four-letter code.
How many people can play?
Any number can join the lobby. You need at least three players before the host can deal. The deck is always three cards larger than the number of players, and those three sit face down in the center.
How long is a game?
One night, a short discussion, and one vote. A round is a few minutes. You can deal again with the same group as soon as the reveal is done.
Do I need an account?
No. Hosting and joining work without signing in. Each browser keeps its own player. A sign-in page is on the way, and you do not need it to play.
Is this classic Werewolf or One Night?
It is the one-night game: a single night of role actions and swaps, then one vote. Players are not eliminated over several days. The full sequence is on the How to play page.
Can friends play from different cities?
The night is narrated out loud by the host's phone, and everyone else closes their eyes on cue. It is built for people who can hear that phone, usually in the same room. Playing in the browser means there is nothing to install.
Which roles should we use first?
Two Werewolves, a Seer, a Robber, a Troublemaker, and Villagers for the rest of the deck. Add Minion, Tanner, Drunk, and Insomniac once the table knows the basics. Every card is explained on the roles page.
What if nobody at the table is a werewolf?
That can happen, because three cards are in the center. The village wins that round only if nobody dies. The other win conditions are on the How to play page.
The code does not work. What should we check?
Codes are four letters. Ask the host to read it again, and join from the home page. If the night has already started, wait on the join screen for the next round.
Where do I learn the game before I host?
Open Learn for a short tutorial, or read How to play and the role guide. Then host from the home page when the table is ready.
